About ARGS DAB

WHO

Dance Arts Boosters consists of families of ARGS students and any , faculty, staff, or other volunteers wishing to support our organization

WHY

  • To foster & promote a positive image of the Appomattox Regional Governor's School dance program within the school and the community at large.

  • To unify & support the dance programs, teachers & students and department events at ARGS.

  • To provide moral and financial support & service to the ARGS Dance Department.

  • To promote an atmosphere of involvement & coordination among all areas of study at ARGS for the purpose of making ARGS a unified  exemplary Governor’s School for the Arts.

  • To engage in charitable, civic, and/or other educational activities that will foster an appreciation for dance & dance education within the community.

HOW

Our volunteers contribute considerable time and resources fundraising and reaching out to areas of the community to make this program a success.  We work closely with Dr. Purvis, Chair of the Dance Dept., to determine where support and funding are most needed and how they can be best utilized for our dancers. 

WHAT

  • Host performances throughout the year (supplying and selling concessions, printing & selling tickets and printing programs)

  • Provide funding for costumes, accessories and/or supplies

  • Organize participation in the Annual High School Dance Festival

  • Plan and host the Senior Banquet

  • Support field trips &/or other activities
